By Sarah Frane Macaroni Kid Gettysburg-Hanover October 20, 2026

Celebrate fall in Adams County at the 19th Annual Harvest Day Festival & Parade on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in downtown New Oxford. Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at New Oxford Circle and Center Square, this annual community tradition will feature food and craft vendors, family-friendly activities, a car show, and the much-anticipated Harvest Day Parade.

Visitors can browse local vendors, enjoy seasonal treats, and explore activities throughout the day. The 2026 celebration also introduces a new car show, adding another reason for car enthusiasts and families to stop by.

Free Children's Activities

Families with little ones can visit the free children's area, open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the grassy area on the circle, marked by bright orange fencing.

Children can enjoy a balloon twister, games, pumpkin decorating while supplies last, and a photo booth sponsored by Lyle R. Pitner State Farm. Young entrepreneurs will also have an opportunity to showcase their businesses as part of the day's activities.

In celebration of New Oxford Borough's 150th birthday, the borough will also distribute free whoopie pie tickets.

Harvest Day Parade

The Harvest Day Parade steps off at 3 p.m., beginning at the back of New Oxford High School. Community members are welcome to participate, and parade entry is free.

Plan to arrive early to enjoy the festival before finding a spot to watch the parade as it makes its way through town.

Join the New Oxford Harvest Hunt

The fun extends beyond festival day with the seventh annual New Oxford Harvest Hunt, a town-wide scavenger hunt running now –October 25, 2026.

Participants can pick up the official Harvest Hunt booklet beginning October 10 at the New Oxford Area Chamber of Commerce office, located at 27 Center Square, or at select participating local businesses. A digital version is also available through an online form.

Here's how to play:

  • Find the hidden leaves: Visit 18 participating local businesses throughout New Oxford, each with a specially marked autumn leaf hidden on the premises.
  • Record the numbers: Each leaf has a unique number. Record it next to the corresponding business in your booklet or enter it in the online form.
  • Earn prize drawing entries: Each correctly recorded number counts as one entry. You must find and correctly record the numbers at a minimum of eight participating businesses to qualify for the prize drawing.

Prizes are valued at approximately $100. To enter, submit page eight of your completed physical booklet to the Chamber office drop-box or email a digital scan or photo to info@newoxford.org by the end of the event on October 25.

The Harvest Hunt offers another way to explore local businesses, discover hidden surprises, and support the New Oxford community throughout the fall season.

Whether you're coming for the children's activities, shopping with local vendors, checking out the new car show, joining the Harvest Hunt, or cheering on the parade, the 19th Annual Harvest Day Festival & Parade offers a full day of fall fun for the whole family.
